Polygon patterns

A common background graphic that's still trending is a mesh of triangles. It looks fancy and can be hard to do if you don't have the right tool for the job. But in 3D the process takes about 1 minute. That is before you start to fine tune it.

In about 1 minute, you start with a mesh, subdivide it a few times, select random vertexes, and offset, to generate a triangle pattern.

One way to get creative is to keyframe the offset and watch how it changes. This enables you to watch for interesting moments and grab frames to use later in other projects where you need unique backgrounds. Also you can combine them by layering, but that's another process.

The clip here demonstrates how one piece of material can generate a linage of attractive patterns.
